Vanessa Chantal Paradis (French pronunciation born 22nd December 1972) is a French model, singer and actress. Paradis was just 14 years old when she became a global star when she was a child-singer with her hit single "Joe the taxi" (1987). When she was 18 she was awarded France's most prestigious awards as an actress and singer with the Prix Romy Schneide and the Cesar Award for Most Promising Actress in Jean-Claude Brisseau's Noce Blanche, as well as the Victoires de la Musique for Best Female Singer for her album Variations on the meme I Love.
